Frequently Asked Questions

1. How far are you behind?

For re-orders submitted by 11:00 AM EST, they will ship the next day. For new design work, we typically have a 5-8 day waiting list. However, during the busy season from the beginning of February to the end of April, this could be as much as 14-21 days. During this time, we urge you to plan ahead and get yourself organized for best results. Please see the ordering section for specific instructions.

2. Will you do a car layout for a specific company so that we can try to attract them as a sponsor?

Yes, we will do this. However, you must still fill out all the ordering forms in their entirety and pay a non-refundable $250 deposit, that can be used on this design or another design if the sponsor does not pan out. We reserve the right to charge a fee for this service depending on complexity.

3. Will you print a wrap with just the graphics so that I can make my own numbers and sponsors?

Yes, we will. Check the Pricing page for graphics only wraps.

4. Will you send me some artwork to see if I like it so that we can decide whether or not we should go with you guys or not?

No, we will not, not without a deposit. We have a lot of cars out there, if you don't think you will like our work then we are not for you.

5. Will you send my artwork to my t-shirt guy or web guy?

Yes, we will send them a pdf of the sponsors and graphics upon approval. We have a non-disclosure agreement that must be signed by the owner of the company. Please allow 5-7 business days after receipt of this agreement.

6. I have a (fill in the blank). Can you wrap something like that?

Pretty much anything can be wrapped. If it is worth doing, we will do it.

7. I don't have all my sponsors yet, can you start on something anyway?

We start on designs when you have everything together, and with completed order forms in hand. By working on a design at this stage, we have found that we end up unnecessarily wasting a lot of time. There may be reasons that we will work on a design at this stage, but typically not.

8. How can I clean tire marks off my wrap?

Your wrap will have a protective laminate clear-coat application, so it is pretty durable. We use rubbing compound most of the time and it works fairly well depending on the mark.

9. What is the best way for me to maintain my wrap?

Treat it like your daily driver. Wash it with soap and water regularly, and wax it from time to time.

10. Did you fall off the face of the earth?

We get this one a lot. Jimmy at times is extremely hard to get in touch with due to the shear call volume, however, the office line 828-855-1124 is answered regularly from 9AM-6PM EST by either Dick, Ronnie or Anna. While the website has everything you need to place an order, if you call you can always leave a message that will be promptly returned.

11. Do I have to buy a whole wrap if only a part of it gets damaged?

No, not at all. In fact, you don't even have to buy a whole panel. You can order a panel by the inch, where you can use that to patch the damaged section.

12. Can you print bright colors?

By this, we assume you mean florescent colors. As far as we know, there is no printer on the market that has this capability, so no. We add the florescent colors manually to the wrap after printing, thus, the surcharge.

13. I have a sponsor that has a logo, what do I need to do to get it to you?

It must be submitted to us in vector form as a .ai, .eps, or .pdf. Many times customers take a raster image (.jpg, .tif, .psd, .bmp) and export it as a vector image (.ai, .eps, .pdf) and this does not work. It is still a raster image. If all you have is a raster image, you may incur a vectorizing charge.

14. Will you sponsor my race team? My race track? My racing series?

Dirtwrap advertises in various ways, so if it makes sense, we will consider it. It is up to you to convince us that it makes sense. You can send all sponsorship inquiries to our address on the contact page.

15. I am a graphics guy but I don't have a printer, will you do some wraps for me?

Yes, we will do wholesale printing for the graphics professional. Contact us for our fees.

16. Why are your prices so high? How can you make any money with prices so low?

We hear them both. Depends on your reference I suppose. We feel we offer fair, consistent prices to everyone.

17. Are there any hidden charges?

No. All additional charges will be discussed up front. This includes additional panels, additional material such as florescent, chrome or reflective, or the occassional art charge. NC residents pay NC sales tax, and if you have it shipped you will pay shipping. And that is it.

18. Do you offer multiple set discounts?

Yes, you may want to take advantage of that. All sets must be ordered at the same time. See the pricing page for more information.

19. Can you come to my shop and install my wrap?

We encourage all of our customers to install their wrap themselves, for several reasons. You gain the freedom of being able to do the job yourself and not having to depend on anyone, you can be particular, and you can save some money. We can guarantee the manufacture and the shipping of your wrap, but depending on locale and our schedule, we may not be able to accommodate your timeline. However most of the time we can. The installation charge is $150 with an additional mileage charge if further than 50 miles one way.

20. My graphics guy charges me $X amount of dollars for my decals, but I don't like his work because (fill in the blank) and I like yours. Will you match his price?

Yes, we really do get this question. Actually a lot. Obviously, no, we do not match prices.

21. (Fill in the blank) graphics company is doing wraps for X, can you match it?

No. Most of the time, this is an apples and oranges thing, so beware. Sometimes these cheaper wraps are not laminate, which is a horrible idea for a race car. The ink will fade, run, scratch by just looking at it, and will be a bear to install. Often times this does not include a full hood print on a dirt late model because this company just has a 30" printer. Sometimes it is inferior material. Most of the time, in fact, we don't know anyone else who does headlight ID kits, which are include in ours. So beware of the facts when you are comparing prices.
